2006 The North Face Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot
Crimson-brick red in color-mild cassis with touch of mocha on nose.  Medium bodied wine with well integrated wine of some complexity with black berry fruit, soft tannins and judicious use of oak that finishes long.  Highly agreeable (91)

The ’05 is, as you would expect beautifully crafted but what the wine lacks in depth of colour and flavour of the vintages on either side, it makes up in drinkability; particularly for non white drinkers who want a flavoursome red with spicy food or those who prefer their reds in a lighter style.

The North Face Cabernet Merlot 2003
Gamy, earthy, dry and drinkable, its face developing  a touch too quickly and its feral, green-tinged character just a touch too bitter, but complexity certainly not an issue. Lots of acidity and drying tannin. This wine will polarise drinkers. Rated : 86 Points

Youthful red-purple; a mix of earth, berry spice and leaf on the bouquet is repeated on the elegant palate which, however, is a little hard in the mouth, and needing time to settle down. Rating 86. Drink 2004-2008. Best vintages ’99. Drink with Kangaroo fillet.
